Mission: Through our 501 (c) (3) designation, The Texas 4-H Foundation promotes and supports youth development in leadership, vocational skills, critical thinking, social skills, and citizenship.

Vision: We seek to create and enhance growth and recognition opportunities for 4-H'ers and their leaders, through our leveraged efforts, that they may develop the hallmarks of successful citizens with responsibility, leadership, and integrity.

Core Beliefs and Values: We believe in preserving the strong 4-H traditions. We value the joys realized by youth achieving goals. We believe the value and relevance of 4-H applies to all communities - urban, suburban, and rural. We value the personal growth and life skills development that long-term 4-H club participation brings. We believe in making the best better. We value active participation/volunteer effort. We believe in cultivating positive relationships. We value growth. We believe in managing the Foundation with complete integrity.

History: The Texas 4-H Foundation had its early beginning as an informal committee known as the Texas 4-H Recognition Committee. Begun by an interested group of businessmen in the early 1950s, the Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1962. The Foundation has the mission of developing the support of the private sector for 4-H educational programs and activities.

In fulfilling its role, the various levels of support arranged by the Texas 4-H Foundation serve to enrich educational programs and activities. These programs are staffed, managed, and promoted in cooperation with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, The Texas A&M University System.
