Q6: What happens if I do not meet the POSTMARK deadline for providing information to maintain my scholarship?
Answer: If your information is not received in our office by the POSTMARK deadline, your payment will be delayed to your university/college. You will need to contact your univeristy/college to make alternative payment arrangements pending your scholarship payment.
Q7: What do I need to turn in each semester to maintain my scholarship?
Answer: You must provide to our office a copy of current semester grades, course schedule for the upcoming semester, and a progress letter.
Q8: I do not have all my required paperwork (ie course schedule, grades) by the deadlines. What do I do?
Answer: In order to not receive disciplinary action, send to our office the information you currently have no later than the POSTMARK deadline with a note explaining what pieces are missing.
Q9: My university/college has a deadline for payment or they will drop my classes, when will my scholarship payment arrive?
Answer: The Foundation office does everything in its power to process scholarship payments as swiftly as possible. We have 500 plus students on scholarhips each year that we have to process. If you have a deadline, please make arrangements directly with your university/college for payment knowing your scholarship payment will be coming at a later date. We process checks in January and August to the respective university/college.
Q10: My scholarship payment is not showing to be in my university/college account, what do I do?
Answer: Our office processes scholarship payments to university/colleges in August (for Fall Semester) and January (for Spring Semester). If your university/college requires payment to be made earlier than those months, you will need to make arrangements with your university/college to cover the scholarship payment until it arrives in your account.
If your payment does not post to your account within 4 weeks after the start of the semester, please notify our office.
**Remember if you did not provide your information to our office by the POSTMARK deadline, you payment could be delayed.
Q11: What is the required GPA and Hours to maintain my scholarship?
Answer: To avoid probation or other disciplary actions, you must make a semester average of at least a 2.0 (2.5 is you are a Star of Texas Rodeo scholar). You must also complete and pass a minimum of 12 semester hours.
Q12: What are the probation/disciplinary actions for not making a 2.0 semester GPA (2.5 GPA if you are a Star of Texas Rodeo scholar) and/or completing/passing 12 semester hours?
Answer: If you are a recipient of a Foundation scholarship and are placed on probation, you will continue to receive a scholarship payment (unless you only have one payment remaining, in which you will not receive that payment until you come off of probation) the semester you are on probation. If you are placed on probation the following semester, your scholarship will be TERMINATED.
If you are a recipient of the Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation and are placed on probation, you will NOT receive a scholarship payment that semester. If you are placed on probation the following semester, your scholarship will be TERMINATED.
